The Botanical Institute of Barcelona hosts the 3rd Botany Symposium

On 25 and 26 November, theBarcelona Botanical Institute (IBB) will host the 3rd Botany Symposium entitled “New challenges in the study of mountain plants, an interdisciplinary perspective”.
The event will start at 16:00 h and will be held in the Sala Salvador, located on the ground floor of the IBB building. During the two days of the Symposium, numerous speakers will present advances in the study of mountain plants, especially on the past, present and future challenges that exist in the study of alpine vegetation.
We know that mountains can act as true evolutionary laboratories, as their extreme environmental conditions push the biology of the living beings that inhabit them to the limit. In this context, we are confident that the results to be presented at the symposium will help to understand and conserve these valuable and delicate ecosystems.
Over the two days of the event, there will be seven presentations, related to ethnobotany, animal-plant interaction and evolutionary biology, which will focus on high mountain plants from a holistic perspective.
Anyone interested can register to attend in person or online. The price will be 15€ for students and totally free for SEBOT members. For all other participants the final price of the symposium will be €30
